An art expert by training and then an actor in China, an artist, Valéry has multiple creative horizons.
Steeped in Chinese culture, his artistic reflection is inspired by concepts which are specific to this culture and thus the “Gwaii” is at the center of his work.
A short-lived, bulbous, and expansive element, the "Gwaii" is a phenomenon that grows by absorbing the oxygen around it. It swells, expands, and finally solidifies in a few seconds, with acrylic or concrete then sublimating its final form.
Gravity gives it its curves and beauty.
His wall sculptures defy gravity.
